Why Therapy?
There are times in our lives when we can’t solve our problems alone. This is normal. Having a caring person who is committed to your process and will help guide you through your challenges in confidentiality is what you can expect from me as your counselor.
Sometimes life takes unexpected turns that can leave us feeling anxious, confused, depressed and unsure of what choices to make next. Or, we get stuck in old patterns of behavior and relationship dynamics we know are holding us back, but still feel powerless to effect real change in our lives.
Anxiety and depression are symptoms of underlying issues that need to be addressed in order for a deeper healing to occur. By exploring these symptoms we often find a root cause, which can be brought to awareness and worked on, in a collaborative and nonjudgmental exchange. Change happens as we are willing to take gradual new steps in our lives that create a series of subtle transformations and enable new attitudes and behaviors to take root in us.
It’s not always easy to reach out for counseling. Finding the right counselor is important. I seek to provide an emotionally safe environment where you feel free to talk about whatever issue you want to explore knowing you will be met with compassion and care. While focusing on the strengths and inner resources you already possess, we can look at the areas that are now challenging you and keeping you from living your life more fully.
Feelings of anxiety, depression, grief, despair and guilt, keep you from experiencing a deeper connection to yourself, your loved ones and the wholeness you seek in life. Often there is a need to release old wounds and past hurts in order to make room for the new life that is stirring in you.
In a collaborative and holistic effort, we will work together so you may experience renewal and deeper self-acceptance and find yourself more able to live out of your unique capacity.
